It is collected from the resin of black fir exclusively in the mountains of the Peloponnese. It ranks in the highest category of honey.
The fir honey has a pearly white appearance. Its unique color resembles a gem, making it stand out among other Greek honey varieties. It is rich in trace elements, potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, enzymes, proteins, and vitamins that contribute to the body’s sugar metabolism. Due to its high pH, it never crystallizes.
During storage, the temperature should not exceed 23°C to preserve its color and flavor. For this reason, it is recommended to store it in the refrigerator during the summer months. |
